It's been a blast to create from blank computer screens and it occurs to me that it's not unlike painting on a blank canvas or- hey- creating a sweater from balls of yarn.<div><br /></div><div>There's also a fair amount of pressure, too. It's my hope to create a bigger and better website with more ordering options- things like downloadable pdf's-- but I know it won't happen overnight. My goal for now is to make the switch with a visually pleasing beginning. You may find some "coming soon... messages", but the main structure should be up and going by Monday morning, March 31st.</div><div><br /></div><div>Online ordering will take some time to work through, though, so please drop me a line with what you'd like to see go up first.</div>Kennitahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03367625243003908489noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5635626824308833176.post-77103907189837678922008-03-03T08:57:00.001-08:002008-03-03T09:11:57.278-08:00so many things to knit...<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1pafgbQv1xbNKaA9aH18aBe3KWCbD0wOCWyiHVqXKhFVRY5JyKAvkxsEktMoesL0O7xm_klia72f2Oml04FA3FF4wa5B-sAWXFHfWgl0leFeqskVQj0hKRfEIwH1JhQxx5-O4WxHgMtw/s1600-h/doloreseasterbasket1.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173562243750712290" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1pafgbQv1xbNKaA9aH18aBe3KWCbD0wOCWyiHVqXKhFVRY5JyKAvkxsEktMoesL0O7xm_klia72f2Oml04FA3FF4wa5B-sAWXFHfWgl0leFeqskVQj0hKRfEIwH1JhQxx5-O4WxHgMtw/s320/doloreseasterbasket1.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div>WOW! Here's a pic of one from the class we had recently. This one was done by Delores Chambers. The pattern is a Wildflower design; a smaller version of my <a href="http://www.wildflowerknits.com/item.html?UCIDs=1271023%7C1271319&PRID=1553773">Felted Easter Basket</a>.</div><div> </div><div>I'm also working on new designs- more on that later...</div><br /><div>And I've been busy working on a new website - learning xhtml and css and is it ever exciting to realize I can build my site this way. We live about 8 miles north of Manhattan in the hills and roads can get bad. In the almost 17 years we've lived here, it's never kept us homebound, but this morning is another story. One way out is blocked by ice-packed trees, poor things- and my car won't make it up the other way (think steep hill).<br /><br />But, hey- at least - so far- we have power! I'm sure it's out in many nearby areas, so I'm wishing you all a safe, warm spot to curl up and knit today! I've got lots of projects here at home... doing a modular vest adapted from my mini-mitered cardigan in a color scheme I can wear (unlike the mini-mitered cardigan...) plus I'm working on a scarf and cardigan with Plymouth Tweed-the cardigan will be intarsia and the scarf (most likely my project for today) is log cabin and stripes.<br /><br />Hey- just realized my camera is home with me today, too- maybe I can get some pics up later....<br /><br />Happy Knitting, everyone. And please know I'd never close shop except for extreme conditions such as this.Kennitahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03367625243003908489noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5635626824308833176.post-90778804474956340452007-10-25T10:03:00.000-07:002007-10-25T10:08:58.786-07:00knitting for peace- sundays at wildfloweralmost forgot to mention... we've had great response for our charity knitting projects on sundays (3pm every sunday-). Join us when you can or email me if you want the current pattern we're working on. Last week we worked from <a href="http://www.bigskyknitting.com/ChemoToque.html">Janet Szabo's Chemo Toque</a> and we'll continue with that this week as well. Every two weeks I'll track down another pattern (always have a crochet one available, too) and keep working one stitch at a time. The chemo caps will be distributed at our local hospital to those undergoing chemo.Kennitahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03367625243003908489noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5635626824308833176.post-2751827491334869192007-10-25T10:01:00.000-07:002007-10-25T10:03:38.906-07:00gwen bortner receptionJoin our party this friday at 7pm to welcome Gwen Bortner. It's Harrisville's new bulky 100% virgin wool in beautiful heathered shades- 18 colors. I added it online this morning, but may need to re-photograph as the colors don't look as rich as they should. I think this photo is better, though. Of course, the best view is from inside the shop! I'm partial to the blues and greens, of course. This is another one of those yarns that makes me want to design something using every color...</span></div><div> </div></div></div></div>Kennitahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03367625243003908489noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5635626824308833176.post-18923463327577627472007-08-28T08:10:00.000-07:002007-08-28T14:43:32.272-07:00welcome to my blog<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsaFV2M36GFduCVghnGq0AQ-ep1SkBh3T02K12cbUvOUXXjX0kRDhcgok4aP3FnnqR344PhzyJNNpz4rP8fAZZLL_mEiquEXmeCmen_V5L6y3FsS2yYV9aW019qWMlUIX2A31RBY-uOQk/s1600-h/kennitaandplato.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5103774157218551810" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsaFV2M36GFduCVghnGq0AQ-ep1SkBh3T02K12cbUvOUXXjX0kRDhcgok4aP3FnnqR344PhzyJNNpz4rP8fAZZLL_mEiquEXmeCmen_V5L6y3FsS2yYV9aW019qWMlUIX2A31RBY-uOQk/s320/kennitaandplato.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>This is a little reminiscent of my first painting class, when the canvas was all stretched and primed and oh, so empty and beautiful. I never have a problem beginning to knit- not even when I don't have a clue what will come off the needles- it just evolves... but the big blank canvas is a real hurdle for me. Maybe it's because as knitters, we can erase to perfection by simply unraveling- I'm fearless with my knitting...<br /><span style="color:#666666;"></span><br />So... help me if you can- what would you like to see in wildflower's blog?
